International Show Jumper, New Zealand

Uma O'Neill burst onto the scene with her brilliant victory in the 2018 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Vancouver, producing the only clear round over a testing 1.60m track at Thunderbird Show Park (CAN) aboard her longtime partner, Clockwise of Greenhill Z. The talented young professional rider took her first riding lessons while growing up in Hawaii before continuing her riding pursuits upon her family's move to California in 2008.

O'Neill had a quick ascent up the ranks, training with the likes of Benson Carroll, Ray Texel, and Mariano Maggi. In a three-year span, she earned a team bronze medal with Zone 10 at the 2016 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (USA); qualified for the 2017 USEF U-25 National Championship (USA); and claimed her World Cup title in Canada.

In 2019, O'Neill switched nationalities to represent New Zealand, a country with which she's held dual citizenship since childhood. That same year, she made her senior Nations Cup debut at CSIO3* Drammen (NOR). In 2021, she represented New Zealand at the Tokyo Olympic Games and remains a top candidate for upcoming international Championships.

Since then, O'Neill has continued to build a strong base at O'Neill Show Jumping in Santa Cruz, California, where she develops a top string of competition and sales horses. In 2022, she expanded her focus to include more hands-on training of both clients and their horses. The boutique client program has since produced impressive results—guiding amateurs up to the 1.50m level and coaching riders through Young Rider Championships. With a personalized, high-performance approach, the program continues to attract motivated riders committed to progressing in the sport.
